In November 2018, New-Rule launched an in-depth evaluation of five years of rule of law (ROL) programming at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau for Democracy, Rights, and Labor (DRL). In collaboration with our partner, EnCompass, we conducted a participatory evaluation design workshop with DRL technical staff and implementing partners who live in the vicinity of the Washington, D.C. area. The overarching goal of this project is to evaluate a range of ROL programming to gain insights into program design and implementation to inform the Bureau’s strategic approach to ROL programming in the future.
