International Framework for Court Excellence (IFCE)

International Framework for Court Excellence (IFCE)

International Framework for Court Excellence (IFCE)

October 15, 2019 Posted by Scott Carlson Innovations and Solutions, Legal and Judicial Traditions

In support of Democracy International’s Promoting Peace and Justice (DI-PPJ) project, New-Rule Senior Technical Director, Kyra Buchko, traveled to Dhaka, Bangladesh, from September 27 to October 10, 2019. The primary goals of her trip were to: (1) introduce the International Consortium for Court Excellence (ICCE) and the International Framework for Court Excellence (IFCE) to selected stakeholders within the Bangladesh Judiciary; (2) secure stakeholder buy-in and support for the planned activities and subsequent application of the Bangladesh Judiciary for membership in the ICCE; and (3) pilot/administer the IFCE-based, tailored self-assessment tool with several district courts and the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI).   Ultimately, approximately 180 Bangladeshi professionals completed the IFCE self-assessment.  New-Rule is currently analyzing these responses.
