Transparency and Accountability Skills Building

September 28, 2019 Posted by Scott Carlson Innovations and Solutions, Program Design and Implementation Management

On September 28, 2019, New-Rule, in conjunction with PartnersGlobal and Partners West Africa Nigeria (PWAN), completed the second phase of their training of Transparency and Accountability Practitioners (TAPs) in Nigeria. Professionals from three target states, Adamawa, Ebonyi, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), undertook the intensive, 6-day Skills Building Component (SBC) training.  Scott Carlson and Olivia Baciu of New-Rule and Bridget O’Loughlin of PartnersGlobal  co-trained the participants across the core practical skills necessary to serve as TAPs.  The training commenced with refresher sessions on technical materials, and then students were introduced to the three key roles of a TAP—Consultant, Trainer, and Facilitator. The overarching learning objective  was to prepare TAPs for effective engagement with Local Government Authorities (LGA)’s by introducing them to the roles they may play over the course of their engagements with LGAs in the reform process.
